Five days have passed since our dinner date and I am getting ready today to go to the temple in my room. I carefully remove a pink anarkali suit from my wardrobe, admiring the delicate embroidery and shimmery fabric. I hold it up to myself in front of the mirror, a small smile playing on my lips. This is my favorite outfit, and I am excited to wear it today.
As I slip into the anarkali suit, the soft fabric caresses my skin, making me feel elegant and confident. I take my time arranging the pleated skirt, ensuring it flows gracefully around my legs. Tugging gently at the fitted top, I admire how it accentuates my waist. My hair remains open.
As I adjusting my dupatta, Megha bursts into my room, her eyes widening as she sees my outfit. "Niru, you look stunning!" Megha exclaims, already dressed in a vibrant blue salwar kameez.
I turn to face Megha, a warm smile on my face. "Thank you, Megha! You look beautiful too. I love that color on you." I walk over and gently touch Megha's dupatta, admiring the intricate designs.
"Are things still going well between you and Ashtram, Niru?" Megha ask suddenly.
My face lights up with a genuine smile, my eyes sparkling with happiness. I speak up,"Yes, Megha. Things are wonderful with Ashtram."
My expression turns curious, and I lean in a bit, lowering my voice. "And what about you and Vedant, Megha? Has anything... changed between you two lately?" I ask, a knowing look in my eyes, knowing that Vedant is Ashtram's best friend.
Megha's cheeks turn a shade of pink as she tries to brush off the question with a casual laugh. "What? No, no, nothing's happening between Vedant and me..." But her voice trails off, and her eyes avoid my knowing gaze. " Why do you ask?"
I chuckle softly, shaking my head as I notice Megha's obvious discomfort. "Oh, come on, Megha. I'm not blind. I've seen how close you've been getting with Vedant lately."
Megha insists, her tone a bit too forceful. "I mean it, Niru. It's just office work. Nothing more, nothing less. We're just colleagues, that's all." She tries to change the subject, grabbing her purse and keys.
I nod, letting the topic drop for now. I know Megha well enough to understand that pushing the issue would only make my friend calm up. So, I simply smile and walk out of the room with Megha, linking arms with her as we head towards her car.
As I settled into the passenger seat of Megha's car, I turned to my friend with a playful grin, my eyes twinkling mischievously. "You know, Megha, denial suits you almost as well as that stunning blue salwar kameez. Almost."
Megha just smiled and started the car. I cranks down the window slightly, allowing a gentle breeze to tousle my hair.
After a peaceful 15-minute drive, Megha pulls over in front of the beautifully ornate shiv temple, its golden spires glinting in the afternoon sun. As we both step inside the serene temple, the ambient chanting and the aroma of incense fill the air, bringing a peaceful calm. I pause to admire the intricate sculptures adorning the walls, a soft smile playing on my lips.
With a mix of reverence and devotion, I join my hands in front of Lord Shiva's idol, my voice soft and sincere as I say my prayers. "Om Namah Shivaya." As I finish my silent prayers, a panditji approaches me with a warm, welcoming smile.
Panditji says with a smile, "Beti, aane waale samay mein tumhari zindagi ek bade mod se guzregi. Jo likha hai, use koi mita nahi sakta."
My eyebrows arch slightly in surprise and curiosity. I lean in a bit closer, my voice barely above a whisper. I ask, "kya matlab hai apka panditji kya badalne wala hai."
"Samay ke sath sab samajh jaogi beti bas himmat mat harna kabhi," Panditji says. The panditji's words leave me with a sense of intrigue and a gentle nudge of reassurance.
I nod thoughtfully, my eyes reflecting a mix of anticipation and acceptance. With a respectful namaste, I thanks the panditji. "Thank you, Panditji."
After the panditji leaves, I and Megha share a look, the weight of the mysterious prophecy hanging between us.
Megha shrugs it off with a lighthearted laugh, trying to ease the tension. "Let's not read too much into it, Niru. It's just a general thing pandits say to everyone." I noded with a force smile.
Megha says, "let's go get a nail extension."
My face lights up at Megha's suggestion, shifting my focus from the puzzling prophecy to a more pleasant distraction. "You're right, let's go get our nails done. It's been a while since we last pampered ourselves."
With a bright smile and a skip in my step, I take Megha's arm, we two friends walking out of the temple, our minds now focused on the simple pleasures of a girlie day, the prophecy forgotten, replaced by the excitement of an upcoming nail extension session.
As we reach the nail salon the nail technician started her work, she polish the finishing touches on our perfectly extended nails, I admires the stunning results with a delighted grin.
With our newly done nail extensions shimmering under the car's interior lights, I settles into the passenger seat of Megha's car, the warm air conditioning gently blowing as we drive towards the office.

My expression grows darker with each passing minute that my angel fails to arrive. I sit behind my massive mahogany desk, tapping my fingers impatiently. My secretary knocks on the door, entering cautiously. "Sir, Ms. Niranya still hasn't arrived." I noded and order him to leave.
My secretary quickly exits the room, closing the door softly behind me. I picks up my phone, dialing my angel's number once more. It goes straight to voicemail, just like the previous five times I called today. "Damn it."
I slams my phone down on the desk, running a hand through my hair in frustration. I misses her so fucking much it physically hurts. "I can't live without seeing her, without holding her..."
My mind racing with unanswered questions and growing concern, I decides I had enough. I grabs my car keys and storms out of my cabin, determined to find out why my angel hasn't shown up to work till now. "Where the hell is she?"
As I emerge from my cabin, I freezes in my tracks. Their my angel is coming with Megha. She looks radiant in the pink anarkali suit, her hair cascading down her back in loose waves. She is looking stunning.
I murmur to myself, my voice barely audible, "she looks like a divine painting come to life. Every step she takes is pure poetry in motion. How did I ever function without her daylight illuminating my dreadfully dull world?" I watches as Megha chats happily beside her, oblivious to the fact that my world has just stopped spinning on its axis.
Suddenly My gaze sharpens as I notices Megha walking away and a male employee approaching My Rain Angel. My hands clench into fists, jealousy surging through my veins like a poison. Red haze clouds my vision.
My eyes narrow as I studies the male employee's expression. It's not a friendly or respectful look; it's lustful and lingering. The way he smiles at My Angel, the way he stands too close... it sets my teeth on edge. "That bastard, No one can look at my angel like that. No one can smile at her, laugh with her, stand near her... She's mine to admire, mine to laugh with, mine to protect." I murmered.
The thought that she remains blissfully unaware of the ulterior motives surrounding her only adds to my desire to shield her. "My innocent angel, fluttering amid wolves and not even realizing the danger."
The possessive fire that's been burning inside me since the first moment I saw my angel ignites dangerously. "He's pushing his luck... very, very close to exhausting his entire life expectancy"
In two quick strides, I am by my angel's side. My voice comes out stern and authoritative, carefully masking the jealous storm brewing beneath "Niranya, come to my cabin immediately. I need to discuss something... vital." My eyes flash a warning at the male employee. Without waiting for my angel response, I turns on my heel and strides towards my cabin.
I sits on the couch, my arms crossed over my chest as I waits for my angel to arrive. The door opens, and I looks up, my gaze locked onto hers as she enters. My voice comes out softer but commanding "Come here, Jaan." My eyes maintain their intense focus.
She slowly walks towards me. I watches her approach, my expression unreadable. As she nears, I suddenly reaches out, grabbing her wrist in a firm but not painful grip. Pulling her into my lap, I immediately wraps my arms around her waist, holding her tightly against mine. My eyes blaze with barely restrained intensity as I stares deep into hers.
She looks into my eyes, searching for any explanation for this sudden display of possessiveness. My voice is low and gentle, belying the possessive fire in my eyes "Tell me, Jaan... what was that employee saying to you? Every. Single. Word."
Her voice barely above a whisper as she responds. "He... he was just asking about the new project we are working on."
I gently kisses her cheek, my lips lingering near her ear as I whispers "Too innocent... far too innocent to be wandering around the office alone, my rain angel..." My fingers trace soft patterns on her waist.
She pulls back slightly to look at me, her eyes filled with confusion. "Ash, it was nothing. He was just asking about the project because he's on the same team."
I nods, my expression softening slightly as I looks at her. "Where is the pendant I gave you, Jaan? My eyes search hers, my voice gentle but probing. "Did you take it off?"
Her eyes widen in realization as she remembers the pendant. She blushes slightly, her fingertips unconsciously tracing where the necklace would normally rest on her chest. "I'm so sorry. I took it off before my shower this morning and completely forgot to put it back on."
"Listen to me, Jaan," I says softly, my eyes locked with hers, "You must never take it off again, understand? It's not just a pendant, it's my claim on you that you wear around your neck..."
She nods quickly, She understands now, more than ever, how much this pendant means to me and how important it is for her to wear it.
My gaze softens as I notices her nail extensions, a small smile tugging at the corner of my lips. "I see you've done something new with your nails, Angel. They look quite elegant..." My fingers lightly brush against her fingertips, admiring the intricate design.
She looks down at her nails, "Ashtram, how did you even notice...?" She asked.
"I notice everything about you, Jaan, like right now you are looking like a pink angel in this dress sitting on my lap" I say, my voice low and sincere. "Every little change, every new habit, every subtle expression on your face... I notice it all, because you are everything to me." I gently takes her hand in mine, my fingers intertwining with hers.
"Do... do you like them? The nails...?" she asked.
I smirks playfully, my thumb tracing circles on the back of her hand. I leans in closer, my breath tickling her ear as I whispers, "You know what those nails would look even better on? Digging into my skin while I make you scream my name..."
Her face turns beet red. She swallows hard, trying to maintain eye contact with me. I gently but firmly pulls her face closer to me, my lips hovering just inches from hers. "Your face is turning red, sweet one..." My voice is a sultry whisper, my eyes locked onto hers. "Are you imagining it too?"
She lets out a soft sigh as I pulls her closer. As she sighs softly, I takes it as an invitation and closes the distance between us, pressing my lips against hers in a slow, deliberate kiss. My hands remain on her waist, pulling her flush against mine as I deepens the kiss.
She responds to my kiss, her arms wrapping around my neck as she melts into the embrace. Her fingers twine in my hair, holding me close as she loses herself in the kiss.
The sudden sound of the door opening breaks the moment, and we both turn to look at the intruder with shock and surprise.
